Consensus of users

810YGcXeupL._SL1500_Th is Snowthrower has been dubbed a “snow giant” by many. Some of its users who have had an opportunity to use this machine feel there could not be a better option out there. One particular female user called the snow blower a “beast.”  Another happy user recounted their experience with other snowthrowers and how this machine came to their rescue. Quoting his exact sentiments:

“I have been able to use this snowblower twice now. First time was on about 6 inches of very heavy, wet snow. It handled it very well. The second was on about 4 inches of light, powdery snow. Both times, I was amazed that this snowblower got all the way down to the concrete on my driveway. I thought for sure it would leave a fine layer of snow that would eventually turn to ice – but it didn’t. I would buy this again and have recommended this to a friend, who then purchased the same one.”

Other users like its all metal housing, the convenience of its headlight especially at night and the electric start.

However, not everyone liked the machine. There were reports of some reliability issues but it appears that this model has since been improved. Could be those reviews be a reflection of the performance of the pre-design model. We aren’t sure. Other issues touched on were discrepancies in the Operator’s Manual. Other issues included issues with customer support from the manufacturer’s website.

Overall conclusion

Husqvarna ST224Overall, the Husqvarna ST224 – 24-Inch 208cc Two Stage Electric Start Snowthrower may just turn out to be your best friend after serious snowfall this winter thanks to its perfect ergonomics and easy maneuverability. Although it weighs about 240 pounds and is heavier than other machines, it boasts high performance ratings, better than other machines, including some Greenworks and Toro models. It’s hydrostatic-powered drive enables it to perform in varying different conditions, giving it reliable forward speed. Moreover, the option of power steering makes it easy to maneuver.

Besides laudable snow clearing ability, its mighty engine and heavy-duty auger are top-notch, allowing this machine to go through snow like a hot knife through butter. It can clear a swath of 24-inches, up to a depth of 23 inches. Besides, it can throw snow up to 65 feet!

Most importantly is its competitively priced for the quality and performance it delivers. The machine is priced around $799. This is a chunk of change for sure, but fair given its performace and features. In addition, it’s difficult to complain after you’ve experienced this beast in action. The adage, “you get what you pay for” applies with force to snowthrowers in our experience!
